EAT LESS FAT GROW MORE HAIR
Eating a steak-and-potatoes diet can not only plug up your arteries; it might also lead to hair plugs, as well. After reviewing 30 years of hair loss and heart disease data collected from more than 2,000 men, researchers found that those with the least hair also had the highest risk of dying from heart disease. The connection is likely due to nitric oxide, a naturally occurring chemical that prevents blood clots and dilates blood vessels (two key factors in avoiding heart attacks). Nitric oxide also seems to foster hair growth and erections. When atherosclerosis damages the walls of your blood vessels, it causes them to produce less nitric acid.
WAX ELOQUENTLY
An aggressively applied earbud can puncture your eardrum; the resulting scar tissue can give your hearing problems later. It's safer to clean your ears with a finger inside a facecloth. If wax tends to build up in your ears, let a doctor show you how to irrigate them with vinegar and water.
STOP CRUNCHING TO LOSE WEIGHT
Don't try to lose your gut by working your abs. Researchers found that it takes 250 000 crunches to burn 500g of fat - that's 100 crunches a day for seven years.
DRINK AND DRIVE
Doing a long drive? Pretend someone has poured a cold drink down your back - notice how your shoulders pull back and your spine curves? That`s the position your back should be in when you drive.
